FILM & TV- ADVERT FOR LSC

SECOND PITCH

Group Members include: Yvonne Bonsu (me), Claudia Dos- Santos, Pierce Tomlinson, Prince Bibbon and Bicton Watson

For our final pitch we had to promote our college Leyton Sixth Form College as a whole instead of focusing on our department on its own. We decided to promote the vibe of the college as when we had a focus group that is what drew people to apply for our college; that and our grade/pass rates. My group and I thought of the idea of showing snippets of how the college operates in different departments. We thought we could  start of the ad by having an establishing shot

Budget - £ 2,000 pounds

Crane and Tracks cost- £299.99

Then we decided to rent out a Harrow Club ( Recording Studio) £30 per hour and also it is £200 pounds per hour for sound engineering. All together we spent three hundred pounds and now we have £1,700 pounds remaining. The reason why we hired out a recording studio as we realised the college promotes this on the website but they do not have it so in order to back the information on the initial college website we decided to show them this recording studio which they will be able to use for an hour on Mondays and Fridays.

PITCHING REFLECTION

Initially I had the idea for speaking parts for the advert but that got cut out by Pierce Tomlinson. So there is no script and Prince Bibbon, Pierce Tomlinson and Bicton Watson had done the filming. However, I came up with the ideas. I thought of the areas in which they can shoot and why. For instance, I thought they should film the back of  the college as the audience can see the back of the building and at the back of the college there is a huge sign saying LEYTON SIXTH FORM COLLEGE in silver. In that view you can also see the field which attracted a lot of people to the college. The second shot was of the sports department as a lot of the guys and a number of females to work out and the fact we have our own gym that we do not have to pay for is truly rewarding. The third place was the Performing Arts and then the psychology, sociology and art department. We showed these areas as those are the areas in which most people tend to want to know more about especially the pass rate. I felt a bit uncomfortable answering some questions; there was even a time I got stuck and had asked someone else if they would like to answer the question that I started to answer.

PITCHING REFLECTION

For the trial pitch that took place on Friday the 10th January 2014 I worked with Esther Olagunju. We decided to pitch a perfume called 'Unbreakable' our chosen company name was LeMarie Sync. To attract costumers to use our perfume we decided to use TLC the all-girl American music group as they just released a come-back film. Despite the fact that there were different actors that were used the film still went global. I felt this practice run went better than I expected. I could have been more alert when it came answering a few of the questions but I picked up a tactic of saying "We don't have it at the moment but we'll get it to you as soon as possible". In all my delivery in the trial pitch went well.
